We are seeking a Project Manager to coordinate and support the Community Consultation, Engagement and Audience Development elements of Unlocking Ushaw project which is funde

Job Description

Applicants will be expected to undertake the following work as part of their contribution to the Unlocking Ushaw project:
1. Community Consultation & Engagement Delivery
Oversee the Engagement Officer in planning, coordination, and delivery of community consultation activities linked to the project.
Manage qualitative and quantitative data collection during all activity phases.
Recruit and oversee consultants to develop a site wide Interpretation strategy.
2. Audience Analysis and Growth
Lead procurement for Audience Analysis and Development consultants
Work alongside consultants and marketing and comms team to gather data on visitor and non visitor segments
3.Activity Co-ordination of 2029 Commemoration Programme
Contribute to drafting funding applications for identified engagement and cultural activities
Oversee co-ordination of the 2029 Commemoration programme. This will include workshop programme for primary and secondary schools; Conference and public talk programme with Durham University and Notre Dame London; temporary and touring exhibitions elements and new music and art commissions.
4. Planning, Risk Management & Administration
Contribute to the Project Risk Register from the Excel file, updating mitigations regularly.
Manage project budgets, cashflow, consultant costs, and expenditure tracking.
Ensure all procurement follows charity and funder requirements.
Maintain documentation, timetable updates, meeting notes, and reporting files.
In collaboration with the Masterplanning Project manager, provide regular reports to Steering Groups and stakeholders as required including final evaluation reports.
Contribute to project reporting to funders

The post is for 18.5 hours per week working hours to be agreed with successful candidate.

Job Requirements

We are looking for someone with:
experience in managing complex, multi-strand projects (heritage, arts, community or cultural sector ideal)
strong skills in project planning, budgeting, stakeholder management, and reporting
experience of working with consultants, preferably in engagement, or interpretation
demonstrable experience facilitating consultation, workshops, or community engagement
ability to manage volunteers, community participants, and external groups
knowledge of heritage settings, visitor experience development, or interpretive planning
experience in schools or informal learning programme development
experience working with artists on co-creation or participatory arts projects
