The Cheltenham Playhouse has been around since 1945 and is one of only a handful of UK theatre buildings converted from a grade 2 listed swimming pool. The 180 seat auditorium shows live theatre, comedy, live music, external school and Am-Dram productions. At least one year's experience in technical theatre, including lighting, sound and live event support. Experience with ETC lighting, Behringer X32 and QLab is desirable. Knowledge of theatre technical systems, health and safety, fire safety and safeguarding. Ability to troubleshoot equipment, work independently and as part of a small team, and supervise volunteers where required. Strong communication, organisation and customer service skills with a proactive, flexible approach. A passion for theatre and supporting community arts. Enhanced DBS check, First Aid at Work and IOSH Working Safely qualifications, or willingness to obtain them. Provide technical support for performances, rehearsals and events, specialising in lighting and sound. Act as Duty Technician, supervising get-ins, get-outs and live shows while ensuring safe working practices. Rig, programme, operate and maintain technical equipment, including ETC lighting and Behringer X32 sound systems. Support visiting companies with technical advice and excellent customer service. Assist with PAT testing, fault finding, routine maintenance, venue upkeep and safety inspections. Maintain clean, organised technical spaces and ensure compliance with health and safety procedures. Supervise and support technical volunteers, work collaboratively with colleagues across the venue, and contribute to the ongoing development of the Playhouse's technical facilities and hire spaces.
