As a Visitor Experience Assistant, you will be expected to understand the needs, interests, and expectations of our visitors, adapting your approach to make their experience as enjoyable and insightful as possible. Whether it's offering guidance or answering questions, your role will involve providing a safe and welcoming environment for everyone, ensuring all interactions are informative and enriching. Your role will include assisting in the day-to-day running of the Gallery, ensuring that it operates efficiently and that visitors can fully appreciate the exhibitions in a well-organised environment. This will include monitoring the visitor flow, ensuring the Gallery space is safe and accessible, and providing logistical support for special events or exhibitions. Qualifications: - Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in a gallery, museum, or similar cultural institution. - Strong interpersonal and communication skills. - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. - Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving. - Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays. Desirable Skills: - Experience with ticketing systems and point-of-sale (POS) systems. - Fluency in additional languages is a plus. - First Aid certification. - Passion for art and a desire to share knowledge with visitors. Personal Attributes: - Friendly and approachable demeanour. - High level of professionalism and reliability. - Team player with a positive attitude. - Ability to remain calm under pressure. Key Responsibilities: Customer Service: - Greet and welcome visitors upon arrival. - Provide information about current exhibitions, events, and facilities. - Address visitor inquiries and resolve any issues promptly and professionally. - Assist with ticket sales and provide information on membership programs. Exhibition Assistance: - Monitor Gallery spaces to ensure the safety of artworks and visitors. - Provide insightful information about the exhibits to enhance the visitor experience. - Support the setup and takedown of exhibitions as needed. Operational Support: - Assist with opening and closing procedures. - Support front-of-house operations, including managing queues and controlling entry during busy periods. Visitor Engagement: - Meet and Greet visitors. - Conduct surveys for diverse audiences and report on visitor satisfaction. Administrative Duties. - Maintain accurate records of visitor numbers and feedback. - Assist with administrative tasks as required.
