Job Summary

We are currently seeking Visitor Operations Assistants on a permanent part-time basis. Contracts available are 8 hours per week either across weekend days/evenings and/or weekday evenings.

The role:

The Visitor Operations Assistants work collaboratively with colleagues and other departments to facilitate all visitor activity including, guided tours, performances, events, workshops and retail operations. This role supports the Globe's mission to make Shakespeare accessible to all, by being a welcoming and informed presence throughout the site and contributing to the smooth and safe operation of the visitor experience.

This is a front-facing role in a fast-paced environment that involves standing for extended periods and includes manual handling. The position requires flexible availability and operates year-round, across a 7-day schedule covering daytime and evening shifts, and outdoors in all weather conditions.

The team:
The Visitor and Audience Operations Department is at the heart of Shakespeare's Globe, responsible for delivering exceptional experiences to all visitors. Encompassing tours, performances, events, and retail support, the team ensures every aspect of the visitor journey is welcoming, inclusive, and smoothly run. With a strong focus on operational excellence, customer service, and collaboration. The department plays a crucial role in the day-to-day running of the site and upholding the Globe's commitment to accessibility, education, and world-class theatre.

The pay:
£14.26 per hour.

Job Requirements

  • Warm, professional, and committed to delivering outstanding visitor care.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a large team and across departments.
  • Punctual, reliable, and capable of showing initiative and adaptability.
  • Confident communicator, with strong product knowledge and persuasive selling skills.
  • Comfortable standing for long periods and performing manual handling duties.
  • Enthusiastic about engaging visitors and sharing knowledge about the Globe's offer.
