This is an exciting time to join the V&A Visitor Technology team. Technology is integral to the operation of the V&A and plays a fundamental role in enabling the Museum to achieve its strategic objectives.

The Visitor Technology Team Leader responsibilities include managing a team of three technicians and assisting the Visitor Technology Partner in the management of the end-to-end delivery of V&A Visitor Technology projects and AV into service across all exhibitions and galleries in the V&A estate. The Visitor Technology Team Leader will take a lead role in the delivery of projects through the entire project lifecycle, making sure that projects are a creative solution, delivered within budget, on schedule, and within scope.

Job Requirements

An awareness of project management methodologies.

Experience of managing or supporting projects using formal project management methodologies and tools such as PRINCE II, PMP, Agile, Microsoft Project etc.

Technology literate with a general understanding of IT applications, systems and processes.

Customer focused and goal orientated with keen attention to detail.

Ability to direct, interact and effectively share information with V&A staff.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to handle difficult or sensitive situations.

Ability to produce clear written material.

Ability to communicate technical information in a clear and understandable manner to non-technical stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities

Keep visitor technology service documentation up to date and produce new documents as required.

Undertake regular checks to ensure technology in the exhibitions and galleries is running as expected.

Undertake maintenance of exhibitions and visitor technology as required and plan hardware/software upgrade projects.

Work with the Visitor Technology Partner to research and test new technologies and review how they might provide opportunities for the Museum, both in terms of innovation, and enhancing the visitor experience.

Deputise for the Visitor Technology Partner as required.

Provide regular status updates to key stakeholders when required.

Share knowledge and expertise with others, coaching and supporting team members as required.

Perform other duties as assigned by your line manager or by appropriate managers within your department.
