Job Summary

Help develop our charity's volunteering offer, and enable creative and community activity to flourish in Lancaster.

Job Description

The Gregson Community and Arts Centre is a community owned, community led charity.

In recent years we have transformed following a 'community take back' led by our ambitious Board and volunteers from our community. The centre enables civic society in Lancaster - last year the Gregson was home to 3,331 events. Local people drive forward our programme and over 140 volunteers enable our work.

Strengthening our relationship with volunteers is critical to achieving our ambitions. This is where you come in. A vacancy has arisen with an existing role, meaning that this work is already underway and now we need someone to pick up the reins and continue forwards. Of course, there is scope to do this in your own way, but good to know you won't be starting from a standing position.

This role is varied and at times, challenging. No two days will be the same. You might be reviewing policies one day and rolling up your sleeves at one of our Do Up Days the next.

The perfect person for this job will bring new ideas to keep us fresh, exciting and relevant. They will also be great at bringing people together around a common cause, in spotting what makes a person uniquely brilliant, and in giving people the confidence to develop new skills or show off old ones.

Part time - permanent position (12 hours per week) - more hours may be offered subject to project funding
Salary - £30,000 pro rata
