Assist the Head and Deputy Head of WHAM with the preparation, maintenance, and running of all wigs, hair, and make-up for performances, press/marketing photography, and promotional events, ensuring the Designer's original vision is maintained. Support the WHAM team in setting up wigs, hair, and make-up plots as scheduled. Assist with the daily cleaning, dressing, and preparation of wigs, ensuring they are in good condition and ready for each performance. Assist with wig styling, hairdressing, and make-up application as required. Support the team during rehearsals, technical rehearsals, dress runs, and understudy rehearsals as required. Provide practical help with emergency wig repairs or quick backstage fixes during performances. Ensure WHAM areas (workstations, wigs, and equipment) are kept safe, secure, and well-organised at all times. Carry out general departmental housekeeping and assist in maintaining consumables and equipment supplies. Comply with health, safety, and company policies at all times. Undertake all other duties reasonably requested by the Head or Deputy Head of WHAM. Previous experience working on a theatrical production or live performance environment. Demonstrated skills in wig preparation, dressing, and styling for stage performance. Experience working with textured hair and familiarity with a variety of hair types. Some experience of hair cutting and/or make-up application desirable. Ability to follow instructions precisely and work as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain continuity across performances. Flexibility and adaptability to respond to performance requirements or changes at short notice. Good communication and interpersonal skills. A positive, proactive attitude and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
