Job Summary

Dragon Drama are looking for a Workshop Facilitator to run drama workshops for children at their after-school clubs, as well as provide one on one LAMDA tuition for exams.

Job Description

Dragon Drama are looking for a workshop facilitator to join our small, close-knit team providing improvisational theatre workshops for children of infants and junior age. *Applicants must be local to South West London/can easily travel to Teddington*

Established in 1993, Dragon Drama is renowned in the local area for offering something different to stage schools; an inclusive, accessible creative experience for children of all ages to learn through play, storytelling, devised theatre and performance. Using improvisation as a starting point, we encourage Dragons to feel free from failure, be able to express themselves without inhibition, listen, experiment and work together whilst using the most important tool within all of us: our imaginations. Our workshops boost confidence, creativity and communication and bring a bit of the magic of theatre into the lives of children and young adults. Many of our alumni testify to their years at Dragon Drama giving them life skills and memories they have forever.

Our workshop leaders are self assured, creative individuals who command the rooms attention without using discipline or authoritarian tactics! Running a workshop is part performance, part educator, part fellow traveller on a journey of imagination. Knowledge and experience of improvisation is desirable, although the right kind of theatre person need not have previous specific experience. Leading involves running games, encouraging discussion, directing devised theatre, and being a port of call for children's thoughts and questions.

A free-thinker with an appreciation of stories and the possibilities of imaginative play would be perfect. Adults who don't consider themselves 100% 'grown up' strongly encouraged to apply!
