The Young People’s Programme Manager is a fun, caring and passionate creative who recognises the fundamental right of every child to access the creative arts. They are organised, resilient, and good with people.

Job Description

Hours: 22.5 (0.6) - Preferred working days: Thursday, Friday,

Saturday.

Pay: £33,000 pro rata

Reporting to: Head of Creative Programming and Partnerships

Responsible For:

Tramshed's Participatory Young People's Workshop Practitioners

Support Facilitators

Volunteers

Placement Students

Main Responsibilities

Understands and delivers the vision of Tramshed activities through participation to inspire, involve and grow

Project manages the facilitated Tramshed Young People's Participation programmes that takes place at Tramshed Venue in Woolwich and across the Borough of Greenwich including line-management.

Manages the Young People's Programme Budget

Develop the work of the Young People's Participation Programme, identifying areas of need, including new ways of engaging with people considering and acting to remove barriers to access to the Tramshed community

Co-leads safeguarding for Tramshed with the Adults with Learning Difference Programme Manager

Our Programme includes

Youth Theatre (3 groups on Saturdays aged 5-18)

Young Company (Delivery January to April)

Youth Drop In (Term Time Fridays)

Youth Advisory Panel

Job Requirements

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES

A can-do, self-sufficient attitude

A belief in the transformative nature of the performing arts and/or the power of real community engagement

Should be flexible and emotionally resilient when collaborating with users and fellow artists; willing to attune to others experiences and emotions with compassion

Experience as an arts facilitator or in a supporting role (Support Worker, SEND provision or other)

Experience of Project Management and Administration

Demonstrable written and verbal communication skills

Good Computer literacy in MS Office packages

Ability to work collaboratively and form effective partnerships internally and externally

Ability to work flexibly with some evenings and regular weekend work

Excellent time and priority management, accuracy and attention to detail

Financial skills including drafting and managing budgets

An interest in the wider social, cultural and financial context within which Tramshed operates

Job Responsibilities

Coordinate and project manage the Young People's programme in collaboration with the Head of Creative Programming and Partnerships and partners

Represent Tramshed as advocate with partners, funders, groups, individuals

Maintain an awareness of current work and trends in participatory arts to review and maintain programme content and outcomes

Increase opportunities for under resourced and marginalised participants

Develop and maintain links and strong lines of communication with current and potential partners e.g. arts organisations, schools and colleges, Young People's groups, referral agencies

Recruit and contract workshop leaders and appropriate arts professionals for the delivery of programme

Support the Marketing Manager in the development and implementation of the marketing strategy for the Young People's participatory programme including communications with schools, colleges and other agencies

Deliver sessions as a Practitioner for our Youth Advisory Panel
