Job Summary

Applications are open for The Line's 2025 Youth Guides programme - a summer programme delivered each year that offers training and employment to young people aged 18-22 living within Newham, Hackney, Tower Hamlets, Greenwich or Waltham Forest.

Job Description

We are looking for motivated and engaging Youth Guides and Youth Guide Supervisors to work outdoors on The Line over the summer.

Youth Guides help to activate the installations on The Line and engage the public in conversation by sharing knowledge and ideas about art, nature and East London's history.

Youth Guide Supervisors applications are open to anyone who has previously been a Youth Guide on The Line. As a Youth Guide Supervisor, you will lead and manage our Youth Guides and activate The Line in new and interesting ways.

The programme includes paid training and CV support, and takes place from July - September 2025. Youth Guides and Supervisors will work 4-hour shifts on Sundays.

Becoming a Youth Guide is a great way to meet others, get outdoors, enrich your local community, learn new skills, and have fun. If you are aged 18-22, living within Newham, Hackney, Tower Hamlets, Greenwich or Waltham Forest, and are interested in learning new skills on The Line, we would love to hear from you.

Job Requirements

We would like to hear from you if you:

Are aged 18-22 (must be 18 by or on 7 July 2025)

Live in Newham, Hackney, Tower Hamlets, Greenwich, or Waltham Forest

Are available on Sundays between 20 July - 31 August

Have a passion for your neighbourhood Are responsible, reliable, and organised

Are willing to work hard

Possess good verbal communication skills

Enjoy contributing to a team and meeting new people

Are sociable and willing to talk to members of the public

Are happy to work outdoors in all weathers

Job Responsibilities

You will:

Become part of a dedicated team, working in pairs along the route of The Line, in the boroughs of Newham, Tower Hamlets, Hackney and Greenwich

Learn to activate The Line's installations and engage the public in conversation by sharing knowledge and ideas about art, nature and East London's history

Create fun, informative and engaging digital content for The Line
