Job Summary

Half Moon is looking for a motivated individual to support our eight weekly Youth Theatre groups with pastoral care, front of house supervision and administration.

This role will also support the Creative Learning team and act as the front-of-house contact for children and families. The role is ideal for someone looking to take their first step into an arts organisation administrative role and who is passionate about working with and supporting children.

Job Description

  • Manage registration and maintain accurate attendance and participant records, ensuring access needs are recorded in line with Half Moon's commitment to inclusion
  • Provide pastoral support as required, maintain behaviour logs in line with safeguarding procedures and act as a key liaison between freelance practitioners, the Creative Learning team and families
  • Communicate regularly with parents and carers to ensure effective support and engagement
  • Deliver administrative support for the Creative Learning team, including managing databases, waiting lists and processing payments
  • Prepare and organise resources for weekly sessions and ensure timely communication with families about term dates, events and reminders
  • Collect and input evaluation data for Youth Theatre, Next Steps and After School Clubs to support monitoring and reporting
  • Work with the Communications Manager to identify social media opportunities, including capturing photos and videos during sessions
  • Embed safeguarding responsibilities across all areas of work, ensuring best practice in communication, data handling and engagement with children and families
  • Other duties as reasonably required by the Creative Learning team

Hours

Autumn and Spring terms
24 hours/week during term time. 10 weeks each term (typically 5 weeks before and 5 weeks after half term)
Days: Mon, Tue and Wed 3-9pm, Sat 9-3pm

Summer term
18 hours/week during term time. 10 weeks each term (typically 5 weeks before and 5 weeks after half term)
Days: Mon, Tue and Wed 3-9pm
There will be an additional admin day of 6 hours once a term.

Salary:London Living Wage (currently £13.85 per hour)

Job Requirements

Essential

  • An interest in working in direct contact with young people and their parents/carers
  • Evidence of excellent interpersonal skills, including confident telephone manner
  • Good oral and written communication
  • Strong IT skills Excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to use initiative and work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a small team.
  • Experience of working in a theatre, arts, community or education environment
  • Willingness to undertake a safeguarding course, or existing safeguarding training, to ensure adherence to best practices and policies.

Desirable

  • Resident of Tower Hamlets
  • Experience of working in culturally and socio-economically diverse communities and inclusive settings
  • An appropriate First Aid qualification or willingness to undertake training Experience using Microsoft Office 365 packages (outlook, word, excel etc.)
