Hey! We're looking for 2 animators with experience in animation and projection-mapping to come on board. Each will be responsible for creating a 3-minute animation to be projected on a beautiful listed building in Staffordshire, responding to voice-notes and artwork by local community participants. * We're looking for 2 animators with experience in animation and projection-mapping to come on board. They will be responsible for animating these assets to be projected on the beautiful front of the Guildhall in Newcastle-under-Lyme using these assets. Each animator will respond to two voice-notes each, with a total length of 3 minutes per animator. * * Timeline: Policy on AI. We are happy for AI-based techniques to be used as part of a balanced creative toolset, and for creatives to choose their own relationship with all new media / tools, while respecting the choices of other creative collaborators as they see fit. Our decisions will be made on overall artistic quality and collaborative potential. If chosen, you'll be given a 3-minute sound design with 2 voice-notes and a range of community art assets. Our technical lead will also provide geometry corrected outlines and reference images as surface as a basis for animating in whichever 2D/3D style you bring to the table. About You As 2099 expand with a range of projection installations through 2026, this call-out is one of several we'll be doing out of a designer to meet new animators, creative coders and sound designers to help us define a unique language for our immersive storytelling. Job Description
We've been invited by Appetite in Newcastle-under-Lyme to co-create a projection piece as part of their light festival Newcastle-under-Light on March 4th. Local participants will be sharing their stories in voice-notes and, in an upcoming series of community workshops, visual assets will be created that respond to the stories shared.
The final piece will combine a range of animators work and relish in the different styles used to bring each voice-note.
Fee: £1500 for 5 days of work.
