Job Summary

You will join a vibrant and skilled team, aiming to establish Nene Park as a visitor destination for diverse audiences locally, regionally and nationally. This role will take the lead in shaping an ambitious commercial events programme, and play a key role in expanding our reach.

Job Description

As a Trust, we look after 2,200 acres of green space including country parks, farmland, lakes and rivers. Whilst most of our 2 million annual visitors know us for Ferry Meadows, there is a great opportunity for expanding events across our estate. This includes the Underpass at Orton Mere and Lynch Farm, home to a listed Tithe Barn and Courtyard.


Our ambition is to establish our parks as a vibrant hub for events in the city - spanning arts, culture and creativity, sport and recreation, and importantly special celebrations.


In this role, you will maximise our events and venue hire opportunities, developing and managing a programme of key income generating activities. You will be responsible for meeting clear income targets, securing new business through venue hire, and building strong relationships with key delivery partners and producers. Additionally, you will explore and develop new projects that enhance the visitor experience, and contribute to our double bottom line.

You will oversee the booking process for families, organisations and businesses, ensuring a seamless experience from start to finish. Your focus will be on providing an accessible, welcoming and high quality experience for all our visitors.

Job Requirements

Requirements - Knowledge and Experience:

  • Proven track record of managing income generating activities, ideally within a cultural setting / visitor attraction / park or a hospitality setting
  • Experience in developing new business, income streams & audiences
  • Strong background in delivering exceptional visitor experiences & managing visitor operations, ideally in a visitor destination
  • Experience in managing & delivering successful projects

Job Responsibilities

Key deliverables

  • Generate income for the Trust by hiring out spaces across the NPT estate: for cultural and sporting events, corporate functions, markets, weddings, filming and community activities
  • Maximise the commercial use of key venues within the park, working with existing partners and identifying new opportunities
  • Develop and deliver a programme of commercial events, in collaboration with partners and external providers
  • Identify new revenue opportunities, particularly those aligned with the Trust's future plans
  • Expand the Trust's audience through venue hire, increasing engagement and impact
  • Work closely with the Marketing and Communications team, to develop and execute a sales strategy where required
  • Implement an effective booking system, to streamline administration whilst ensuring a seamless visitor experience
