Job Description

As a member of Team Ally Pally you will be one of the custodians of the iconic, world famous 'People's Palace', ensuring the legacy of our 150 exhilarating years is continued, now and forever.

As Event Manager you will oversee nominated events from client brief through to delivery across a wide range of Ally Pally's event programme. You will have demonstrable event management experience gained in a venue managing a variety of events with a significant capacity.

This is a full time, permanent role.

Salary: £37,500 - £42,000 pa depending on experience

Job Requirements

Essential

  • GCSE Maths an English with grade C or above or equivalent
  • IOSH managing safely qualification
  • Previous experience in a similar Event Manager role managing large events i.e. min 5,000 capacity
  • Extensive venue experience
  • Experience briefing contractors and suppliers
  • Experience managing event budgets
  • Experience liaising with a variety of stakeholder groups
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to give clear instructions
  • Problem solving and diplomatic
  • Flexible and proactive approach

Desirable

  • Degree or professional event qualification
  • NEBOS managing safely qualification
  • Experience managing live music events
  • Experience of crowd management

Job Responsibilities

  1. Plan and deliver nominated events in accordance with standard operating procedures
  2. Manage the event P&L for nominated events
  3. Monitor contractor and supplier performance against KPIs
  4. Maintain and develop client and stakeholder relationships
  5. Coordinate event planning and debrief paperwork
  6. Uphold site presentation by liaising with internal departments to facilitate repairs
  7. In the role of Duty Manager (EV2) on nominated events, prepare the venue for event open
  8. Participate in the create development of the in-house events programme by supporting the Head of Events with project work
