History of Rewilding.
Thanks to players of The National Lottery, Clapham Film Unit has been awarded a grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund to record the history of rewilding in England.
We will be gathering oral histories from rewilders and making a documentary.
The oral histories will be deposited with the National Life Stories Collection at the British Library. The documentary will be widely screened and broadcast.
We will be recruiting and training volunteers to take oral history recording roles on this project.

Role Description
Heritage project manager for Clapham Film Unit, employed on a freelance basis : 8 days per month @ £250 per day, 18 months April 2026 - October 2027 total fee £36000.
Bringing your experience of managing a variety of previous Heritage Lottery funded projects from start to finish, you'll be responsible for leading 'The History of Rewilding', in accordance with our Project Management Framework.

Job Requirements

Bringing your experience of managing a variety of previous Heritage Lottery funded projects from start to finish, you'll be responsible for leading 'The History of Rewilding', in accordance with our Project Management Framework.
You will be responsible for managing relationships with partners, engaging freelancers and professionals to ensure the project is run to the highest standards. You will manage budgets, write reports for funders and will contribute to the evaluation of the project for funders.
Organise online, in person and blended oral history training sessions for the volunteers with a professional from the Oral History Society.
Report regularly to the steering group. The steering group will include the Oral History Society, members of the participating organisations volunteer co ordinator and volunteers.
Work with professional freelancers to design the booklet publicity and to keep the website up to date.

Job Responsibilities

Key duties :
The project manager will organise all the training and events for the project, will develop working relationships in each area, will maintain communication with the steering group and all stakeholders and partner organisation, providing updates and clear descriptions of activities.
Working with the project officer/volunteer co- ordinators in each location, the project manager will help to recruit and support 15 volunteers to identify and record the heritage of the people who have pioneered rewilding in England.
Support the project officer/volunteer co ordinators in each location to co ordinate and support 30 oral history recordings being made and summarised by the 15 volunteers. Help to organise transport for volunteers to access events and training. Keep digital recordings backed up onto 2 separate drives.
Put all digital outputs online .
Evaluate the project as it progresses, keeping notes and using questionnaires. Organise launch events and screening events.
