Job Summary

We are looking for a creative and proactive marketing and social media specialist to develop and lead Screen South’s marketing work.

As Marketing and Social Media Officer you will be responsible for creating and managing vibrant and engaging digital and non-digital marketing content that attracts and engages our target audience, drives Screen South's online presence, and promotes the work of Screen South.

Salary: £9,120 per annum (£22, 800 FTE)

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Part-time - equivalent to 2 days / 14 hours per week

Location: Digital Hub, The Glassworks, Mill Bay, Folkestone, CT20 1JG

What you need to succeed:

In order to successfully perform in this role, you will need to be very organised and thorough with the ability to think creatively and generate ideas. You must have a high calibre of marketing and social media skills and ideally a qualification in marketing and/or social media. This role would suit a university leaver.

You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with other teams and internal and external stakeholders. Teamwork and accountability are highly valued traits within our company.

Job Requirements

  • Experience in a marketing or social media role.
  • Understanding and proficiency in using social media platforms and analytic platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Knowledge and experience of graphic design and video editing software is a plus.
  • Strong handle on current and upcoming digital media trends.
  • Creative copywriter and proof-reader. A meticulous eye for correct spelling and grammar is essential.
  • Proactive, self-motivated and the ability to think creatively.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Create and implement Screen South's marketing and social media strategy.
  2. Develop and execute specific marketing campaigns to raise awareness and engagement across various channels including digital and non-digital.
  3. Support a diverse and inclusive approach to the recruitment of participants to our programmes.
  4. Manage and grow Screen South's social media presence
  5. Manage the Screen South website ensuring content on the website is fresh, current and relevant.
  6. Create, curate, and schedule engaging content (text, images, videos) that aligns with the brand's voice and marketing goals.
  7. Be responsible for the creation, scheduling and delivery of press releases and related marketing materials for new and existing projects, including outreach support.
  8. Monitor and analyse social media performance using analytics tools, and adjust strategies as needed to improve engagement and reach.
