Job Summary

Cloud & Horse are a design lead company seeking a skilled CNC Operator & Machinist to programme, prepare and cut a range of materials that will be used to create captivating set builds across fashion, TV & Film, as well as immersive experiences & exhibitions. This is a part time role 3 days a week.

Job Description

The ideal candidate will be highly skilled and enthusiastic about CNC. They will be passionate about problem solving with a minimum of 3 years experience in a CNC machinist role or similar. The candidate will be a creative thinker with great organisational and time management skills. We're looking for a dedicated individual with an extensive understanding of CNC construction.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for operating our Multicam 3000 M3 3-Axis CNC router in the Studio 3-4 days a week.
  • Responsible for Using Auto CAD to draught & translate design files
  • Responsible for programming the CNC machine using router cim
  • Hands on role preparing materials and manage cutting lists
  • Providing estimates & quotations on jobs
  • Working independently whilst maintaining high standards of production and great attention to detail ensuring each component is executed to a high quality
  • Maintaining the CNC workshop and regularly ensuring the equipment is functioning to high standard (Multicam 3000, Compressor, vacuum pump, extractor etc)
  • Communicating with the build & production teams to manage workflow and project updates

Job Requirements

  • Great organisation skills to maximise efficiency and minimise wastage
  • Minimum of 3 Years professional industry experience in a studio environment
  • Experience with Auto CAD, Rhino, Aspire and Rhino CAM and general computer literacy
  • Ability to work from fabrication drawings
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Knowledgable in construction
  • A background in fabrication would be bonus
  • Awareness of health and safety regulations and best practice for compliance
  • Reliable and responsible attitude to work
  • Strong verbal, interpersonal and comprehensive skills
