Job Description

As Student Events & Community Manager, you'll play a crucial role in fostering a vibrant, inclusive, and engaging campus culture. Your mission will be to create a programme of extra-curricular events and activities that resonate with all students, ensuring they feel connected and supported throughout their time at BIMM. You will have the opportunity to lead the development and execution of our Campus Community Plan, driving collaboration and shared experiences across different student groups and disciplines. This is a pivotal role that blends creativity, organisation, and leadership to enhance the overall student experience.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead Campus Community Initiatives: Work closely with the Campus Dean to develop and implement a comprehensive Campus Community Plan that fosters unity and collaboration across student groups.
  • Plan & Execute Events: Curate, promote, and deliver a diverse calendar of events that enhance the student experience, focusing on academic, industry, employability, and wellbeing topics.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with the Creative Futures and course teams to support masterclasses, guest lectures, and other enriching activities.
  • Event Management: Oversee all pre-production and day-of logistics for events, including venue booking, promotion, risk assessment, and on-the-day coordination.
  • Support Student Associations: Guide and support the BIMM Student Association (BSA) in creating a wide range of opportunities and communities that cater to diverse student interests.
  • Promote Diversity & Inclusion: Ensure that all events and activities celebrate diversity and promote an inclusive campus environment.
  • Liaise with Marketing: Work with the Marketing department to capture and promote campus events through various channels, including social media.
  • Manage Budgets: Deliver events and activities within the allocated budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness.

Job Requirements

  • Proven experience in event management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Confident verbal communicator, including public speaking.
  • Strong organisation and scheduling abilities.
  • Creative skills in producing engaging promotional materials.
  • Solid administrative and computer literacy skills.
  • Experience in budget management.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders.
