Job Summary

We’re looking for a full-time Trainee Podcast Producer to work with the team running the award winning Transmission Roundhouse (TR). We produce the most creative and innovative audio-led content made by 18-30 year olds from the heart of one of London’s most exciting venues.

Job Description

To be someone who wants to gain the skills and experience to carve their own career in the audio industry. You'll work alongside the Senior Producer to recruit a new cohort of talented presenters and producers and support them to develop and produce podcasts and content. You'll be supporting the day-to-day running of the audio platform, building a roster of new shows, regularly supporting the emerging presenters and producers, and developing partnerships with community and industry based contacts as well as maintaining good working relationships with colleagues in the Roundhouse.

At the beginning of this position we will work with you to create a learning & development plan that will aim to guide and facilitate your growth as an audio professional to best prepare you for further progression in the industry. This will include specified outcomes that will be reviewed and assessed throughout the traineeship as you gain the skills and experience required for a podcast and audio producer.

As well as supporting the audio based ideas of young creatives, the role involves working alongside the Broadcast and Digital Team to deliver content inspired by in-venue programming such as The Last World Festival, In The Round and working collaboratively with the film team.

Job Requirements

Essential

  • Previous experience of working with audio and demonstrable enthusiasm for podcasting and audio production
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills
  • Interest in supporting aspiring young creatives e.g. student or hospital radio
  • Awareness of Transmission Roundhouse and its output
  • Aspiration to carve out a career in the audio industry
  • An interest in developing technical troubleshooting in audio production
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Experience using digital audio workstation (DAW) software

Job Responsibilities

Content Production

  • To work with the Senior Producer to recruit and support the development of new audio-led content for TR.
  • To be responsible for the production and delivery of TR podcasts.
  • To ensure all content is compliant with TR broadcast standards.

Talent Development

  • To support and manage emerging producers & presenters to produce a new roster of podcasts and releases.
  • To work with new producers and presenters to develop pilot shows for Transmission Roundhouse.

Studio Management

  • Technical support for producers and presenters using the podcast studio.
  • Undertake day-to-day admin tasks including, but not limited to, coordinating bookings for recordings, archiving content and often being the first point of contact for external enquiries at Transmission Roundhouse.
